My two military children (ages 6 and 12) *loved* this book. Picking up the pieces and starting over every few years is tough on my kids, yet this book showed them they are not alone. This is a fantastic addition to any child's library but especially for kids who having difficulty making friends. Definitely recommended!

Where Do I Belong is an outstanding portrayal of the challenges children face as a part of a military family. I highly recommend it for children of all ages.

I had the honor of representing "Where Do I Belong?" at this past weekend's Baltimore Book Festival, attended by an estimated 50,000 people. "Where Do I Belong?" was well received. This book is an excellent resource for parents who are looking to ease the anxiety in their children when it comes to moving to a new home/state/location. It is a tool for the children's toolbox on how to make new friends and adjust to life when moving around all the time is their "norm." I highly recommend this book to any parents who are trying to help their children cope with moving. Mrs. Green's writing and illustration draws the child into the book and into the story, and they emerge on the other side with less anxiety and fear about the impending move. 5 Stars

This is a great book. Coming from a military family and being a military child I can really relate to trying to make new friends and not being able to fit in with everyone. I truly wish there was a book like this when I was younger.

This is a must read for young military children and those children that move around a lot. Finding friends and trying to fit in and belong is difficult for any young person but those that are constantly moving go through the struggle of where they really belong. I would recommend this book to all elementary teachers and parents to share with their students and children.

This is a wonderful book for parents whose children struggle with the issue of belonging and would be a great resource for professionals who work with children of military families or with any child coping with feelings of being left out or alone. I would highly recommend this book as a resource to parents, teachers, and others who work with "our" children.

This is a great book for caregivers of military students who maybe going through that awkward stage of transition. Reading this book with your child is an easy way to open the door for discussion in a very indirect way.

The poem "HOME" strikes the cords of continuous movement, uncertainty and family stress that is real. Often, our children's feelings and needs are overlooked. "Where Do I Belong?" has the right notes that shares the hope of finding security in a true friend!

For two decades, I've been fortunate enough to enjoy a husband's-eye view of R.S. Greene's passion for helping and encouraging people, as well as her rare talent for poetry and literature. "Where Do I Belong?" is the embodiment of those qualities, and the result is A) a simplistic and effective tool that children (and parents) can use when adjusting to new situations in life and B) a heartwarming testimony from a former military wife who herself raised two children during her husband's military career. Honey, I'm extremely proud of you for being courageous enough to pursue your dreams, and humble and caring enough to help others along the way. You mean everything to me and I know that neither my military career nor my life would be nearly what they were/are without you alongside me. Congratulations on the book! I know how hard you worked to accomplish this while juggling everything else that life entails. I love you.

My military kids really enjoyed this book. It opened the door to conversations that aren't always easy to navigate with kids; such as making new friends after another move. Also, it shows any child how to be compassionate to another child. I'd definitely recommend this in every military family's book collection.

Thank you for having the desire to write a book that touches the heart of adults and children who find themselves in a new state, home, and school more than they would like. "Where Do I Belong?" is an awesome book for children as it addresses issues that are very relevant and written on a level that is easy for even preschoolers to understand and enjoy. "Where Do I Belong?" is a book to be read to children for enjoyment, teaching specific lessons, helping students to feel apart, or for providing hope to those in need? Whatever the reason, "Where Do I Belong?" is a book to add to your library!

This is a lovely story. The military life can be extremely challenging and its so important to give special attention to the children who live these lives and often get overlooked emotionally. This book has so effortlessly captured the deepest emotions of a child in a way that will speak directly to any young boy or girl. Well done!

When I read the book "Where Do I Belong?", it reminded me of the struggles and concerns that my children suffered through the moves from base to base and the transitions from school to school with military life. This story is simple yet poetic, and sheds light on a very real concern for so many of our children. My children are older now, but it would have been nice to have had a resource such as this available to them. It can really help children to open up and share their concerns. And the poem "HOME" really speaks to the heart. I highly recommend this book.

This is a heart-warming story about a little boy who struggles to fit in after his military family moves around the country. As a mental health professional, I think this would be a great book to have on hand to prompt discussions for a child who feels like he/she does not fit in. It is both well written and well illustrated. I loved how the world became colorful for the boy as he became more hopeful. I'd highly recommend this book for parents, teachers, and professionals who work with children of military families.

Fantastic book and loved the poem inside as well! The positive message is so important!! My daughter had a great time reading it (and being read to), and also liked the illustration. Anyone can relate to this story and have confidence and hope by the end!

If you missed this book signing/launch you missed a treat. This book is heart-felt and drives straight to the needs and longing of children whose parents are in the military or even for children whose parents travel extensively. The book is in black and white, with ample space to allow children the opportunity to express themselves in writing or in art. Excellent job to the author and her assistant!

I've just read the book and find it is a fine, gentle story written with a subtle, interesting message through the illustrations. The story portrays what we know really concerns children as they transition into a new school and neighborhood--getting a friend. The poetry "HOME" also reveals compelling, poetic insight into the military dependent child's social-emotional challenges they face while parents are deployed, injured, reintegrated, and as they frequently move in service to the country. Foremost, thank you, your children, and military members for enduring the challenges while in military service to our country.

This is a Wonderful book. It touches on different points... just life and the things that affect all kids across the board even if they move once. It touches on bullying. Any kid can understand. It helps give kids a better understanding of kids in the military. Beautifully written book!

    The Book

"Where Do I Belong?" is a useful tool to help open the lines of communication.  It gives children the voice to help them express their thoughts and  feelings of acceptance but also on being an individual.
